Top 5 - Summer Comedy Movies

I remember summers as a kid so fondly. Staying up late (or all night), sleeping in, laying out in the sun. Days at the lake, trying to track down the cute girl before there were cell phones. Here are my Top 5 funny movies that capture that summer feeling we long for.

5. Summer School (1987) The only movie I actually remember that stars Mark Harmon. Sometimes it doesn’t feel like summer because it mostly takes place at school, but it is such an underrated movie.

4. Meatballs (1979) Bill Murray. Summer Camp. Hijinks. What more do you want?

3. Dazed and Confused (1973) It’s the last day of school in 1976 and the kids are trying to figure out what comes next and where life is headed for them. With the themes of the movie it could take place in any era. And, it introduces us to Ben Affleck and Matthew McConaughey.

2. One Crazy Summer (1986) John Cusack, Demi Moore and Bobcat Goldthwait head up this crazy tale of summer hijinks. Beaches, pretty girls, a huge scheme, and a bazooka! Who could ask for more?

1. National Lampoon’s Vacation (1983) Ah, yes. The quintessential summer road trip movie. Chevy Chase at his absolute best and so many memorable and quotable scenes. Let’s all head to Walley World, but first we got to pick up cousin Eddie.

Which are your favorites? Which movies should I have included on this list? Let me know!
