Starting A Podcast Is Not Mid-Life Catching Up To Me
“Start a podcast,” they said. “It will be lots of fun,” they said. “It’ll keep you off the streets and out of trouble,” they said.
Have you ever wanted to start a podcast and talk about your life, the city you live in, the news, or even growing old? I have and did! And, it has nothing to do with mid-life crisis BS or needing more hobbies. Now was the perfect time so I grabbed it!
Podcasting, they say, is a great way to share your experiences, stories and ideas with the world. It's been around for a long time, but it's still continuing to grow in popularity. For me, however, it is a great way to get together with friends and talk about the stuff happening all around us, from our city to stuff happening all around the world.
That is why I grabbed two other dudes I know and put us together in a room with microphones and recorders. And, not just talk about the serious stuff, which we do, but talk about everything that affects us: news, entertainment, games, kids, life, death, sex, drugs and rock n’ roll! Todd comes to us as a dedicated veteran podcaster and has great entertainment news knowledge. His love of Star Wars is only surpassed by his love of talking about Star Wars. Mayor Mike is one of the smartest people I know and a really genuine person. He is also our resident science officer. As for me? Well, I’m a self-proclaimed news junkie who enjoys talking into a microphone. I don’t have a fun moniker as yet. That’s why I’m the “other guy.”
That is what R-Town Podcast Extraordinaire is about. Gentlemen of a certain, Gen-Xie, age, talking it out. It’s almost like therapy; probably not as affective, but kind of like getting a free weekly session.
We pledge to do our best. We pledge to try to be funny and entertaining. We pledge to do this show once a week. We pledge to tackle any issue. We pledge to have fun doing it.
